Lament of Missed Opportunity

Perhaps, we could have been

If I allowed my feelings to be seen

Its only now, that I’ve missed my chance

I dream of us and our ‘what if’ romance

 

What would be, if I had spoken

Perhaps love, might have awoken

Instead, I let you get away

Because I couldn’t, think what to say

 

A love lost, that could have been mine

Due to a lack of courage, of spine

Now cursed, to live with foolish regret

That we will never, become a duet
