Oh sad clown

Your smile is upside down

You need to set it right

Or you’ll give everyone a fright

 

Oh sad clown

Why do you have to frown

Don’t tell me all of those folks

Disapproved of all your jokes

 

Oh sad clown

Why are you so down

Didn’t anybody laugh

When you road on that giraffe

 

Oh sad clown

What’s with your sombre frown

Do you think that you’re to blame

Do you think no-one was entertained

 

Oh sad clown

You look so very down

Don’t tell me you really believe

You made the audience leave

 

Oh sad clown

I hate to see you frown

You’ve got a wonderful act

It’s just a little abstract

 

Oh sad clown

Sometimes we get knocked down

But you’ll recover from this

Don’t let it drag you to the abyss

 

Oh sad clown

It’s time to banish that frown

Those folks are long gone

And your show must always go on

      I like to think we’re all that clown. Wanting so much to entertain but not sure if what we’re doing is right.
