Alone in a Loud Place

Leading a solitary lifestyle

It’s easy to become a recluse

Yet living in quiet exile

Can be an auditory abuse

Absent from society

Sequestered from social noise

Life needs vocal variety

A contrast to your own voice

It’s easy to get lost

With a lack of stimulation

The mind will quickly exhaust

Without any outside inspiration

Silence can be deafening

Making it hard to concentrate

Chaotic chatter can be comforting

Giving peace to contemplate

There’s clarity to be found

Whilst alone in a loud place

Surrounded by a wall of sound

Able to think in its embrace

When the silence is too loud

And you need to clear your mind

Walk amongst the crowd

You’ll be surprised what you might find
